Obtaining positive energy through Art

Energy is anything which evokes a reaction within you. Anything that makes you feel good, keeps you happy, helps you to transit through hard times, keeps your spirits high and will be a factor contributing to being positive. Practicing being positive keeps you away from the negative spectrum of sadness, jealousy, low self esteem. One can obtain positive energy though meditation, creative writing, art, singing, getting closer to nature, focusing on gratitude and the gifts rendered in life to name some of the ways. 

When you constantly take in the positive energy from the surroundings it will be visible to the outer world through your actions everyday. Positive energy is not spiritual but something we are creating daily through our day to day actions. Realize the things that make you feel good. If nature makes you feel good, try getting outdoors and getting closer to flowers, waterfalls, mountains or water.

The first thing I do in the morning when I wake up is looking at the sky through my window and appreciating the changing colors, patterns of clouds as the sun rises and the vastness of horizons. And most importantly I find positive energy through art. Through which I can express the beauty and be positive

IMG_1566                               As an artist you express using different shapes and values of colors. You find peace with every stroke of brush. The above painting was done in medium watercolors, inspired by the Albertan landscape. The moment you admire the surrounding landscape, you want to capture it through art. Your vision is through the colors. Like in the above painting I wanted to create a misty foggy evening when the sun begins to set and preferred to values of purple and blue. Yellow for the sunshine that fades away eventually with sunset.IMG_1556

Five Big Ways To Motivate Yourself

There are lot of things for which you have to push yourself. Nothing may appear easy to do first, that may be frustrating and this may lead to feeling of regression and low self esteem. Once you learn to motivate yourself, things start getting easier for you and you develop the self-confidence without loosing your humility. Motivating yourself will mean succeeding in your goals while you keep pushing yourself. You remain in high spirits and make your motto “I Can”.

1.Go after things that challenge you to do. Taking challenges are enjoyable. Once you overcome the challenge, you want to do more as it uplifts your confidence. You may fail the first time but you keep doing the challenge you have taken and make it happen. The happiness and the confidence you develop in your worth will make you to attempt more. You become no more shy in attempting. It is a matter of doing. So go after the things that push you to your limits, you will feel the inner worth of your being and get motivated.

2. Set goals without discouraging yourself and judgmental views. As you do bit by bit you will see how much you have gone along the way. Don’t get discouraged and don’t allow anyone to make you feel discouraged. It is you who knows what works best for you and make you feel happy and boost your self esteem. e.g.. If you want to become physically active by running, start running shorter distances. With time you will see you will build up your stamina and boost your moral. It will be motivating when you become non judgmental and take things in a stride.

3. Remember whatever goal you set is for your well being. It is you who is going to keep yourself motivated and enthusiastic to finish up your tasks. It makes you to think positively. Once you are positive there is a chain reaction of happiness and joy that will fall in place. There is a feeling of yourself not getting stagnated but moving forward.

4. Share your growth with humility. When you share your success with humility it is celebrating your inner self. The success you have gained in every little bit makes you to want to do more, either for your work or your inner well being that will lead to mental peace. Your humility and growth becomes the reason for others to accept you. Share it with people around you without judgement. You will want to do more the tasks you have taken up.  

5. Commit Publicly and stay committed. No one wants to look bad in the public, Once you commit publicly you go an extra mile to do something that you longed for. I have seen it really worked well for me. You take pictures of your challenge and share in public in a blog, face book, tweet or Instagram . You know that you are being indirectly watched and you have to do your best. You have taken up a challenge you may share with your friends, co workers, family without feeling shy about it. It will also give you an extra benefit of being more confident.

Six practices to overcome emotional explosions !

Everyone goes through varied emotions while living in this world, surrounding themselves by tug of wars between their mind and heart. The more we get wrapped into these tugs there becomes a possibility of mind explosions leading to unhappiness, unrest, conceitedness and impatience. The path leads us to go far away from the glory of peace. How important it becomes to bring in the inner peace to avoid all the emotional explosions. Practice the five rituals that will help you overcome the emotional explosions.

                                                           HOLD THE CANDLE OF LIGHT

  1. Give a pause in your daily routines, closing your eyes and bring your and brain to rest. Make it a relaxing technique. Make your brain free of despair, bring in the kindness and love that you long for yourself and everyone around you. Slow down from the traffic of thoughts  that drive through. You may do this at home or at your work place. While you close your eyes you may hear a clock ticking or someone passing by, but you don’t have to be judgmental. Your goal has to be bringing your mind into relaxed mode without the judgmental thoughts.
  2. Develop a connection with the beauty that surrounds you. It could be nature- the trees, sky, water, flowers, animals and the birds. Appreciate the essence of beauty and be thankful of the gifts surrounding you. Your mind eventually gets into the relaxing mode without any tug of wars of negativity and explosive mind.
  3. Develop a morning ritual of positivism. Let your mind be filled with positive thoughts from the start of the day, leaving all the negativity and spreading the positive vibes. Train your brain to listen to good thoughts from your heart. Greet your family members at home with smile. Smile the people you may meet on way to work like to coffee server at the drive through window. Be courteous to people around you. The happiness falls in place and your mind is not exploded. 
  4. Develop a passion that becomes the food for your soul.  Your mind is relaxed and leads to disconnection from the emptiness that you may gather from the negativity in your mind and heart. Passion could be art, physical activity, cooking, singing, reading, writing or anything that brings that connects to your inner self. The feeling of emotional wars eventually fade in the air, bringing in peace. 
  5. Be organized at home and work. De clutter your space and let the positive energies flow. Your mind will be relaxed with clarity and there will be order of thought. It will prevent the explosions of impatience and the negativity.
  6. Talk to your loved ones and release your thoughts. Through away the negativity like a garbage that needs to recycled into positive thoughts. Don’t allow your mind to explode with anger and negativity. Spread love with your good deeds, making your mind calm and satisfied with humility.

 

Make a habit of these rituals and feel the inner contentment and peace 🙂

Simple Choices Make You Happy !

Many await to be happy and dig themselves in the darkness of gloom. Many times they search for a perfect day, perfect week, perfect month or a perfect year. Happiness comes from your thinking and acting, the attitude you build through mindfulness and being positive. The little simple choices you are making everyday. With these choices you create a boosting shift in the life you are living. Every small choice you make leads to a greater meaning in your journey of happiness. The power of mindfulness manifests the happiness that you long for. Everyone’s life has challenges some are are grave and some small. Roads can be bumpy but you have the strength to over come these. We still can be happy and over come these challenges through simple choices that make us happy.  Simple choices awaken the joy and happiness within you, like the beautiful butterflies visiting from one flower to another and spreading their freshness in the garden of colour and purity. You will find the sun smiling at you and the freshness of dusk and dawn. Your feelings of happiness will get liberated like the glowing sun spreading warmth !!

Do moments draw inspiration for you ?

Everyone experiences at least one moment in a day around them, when he or she can get inspired to be happy or get into an action that is meaningful and thoughtful. It could be from someone around them, the sunshine, the clouds, little chirp of the bird or a wave that crashes on the rock by the beach. One needs to have that open-mindedness to look at the beautiful beings (Flora, fauna), textures, colours, seasons and feel them from their inner heart to get motivated or inspired. There are people around you whom you could inspired for example for their meaningful healthy lifestyle or deeds. You have to break the walls if you surround yourself with and get into the inspirations that lead into a chain reaction of joy, happiness and self-esteem !

How much I love seeing these red jays that I miss here in topography where I live. A reason for me to set out for a long walk in the woods when I visit my sister in Charlottesville. The pretty bird fleets with great speed from one tree to tree and one bush to another feeding herself with holly berries as the fluff soft now falls. I try to tag my self with the bird trying to get a closer look but she is too shy and keeps showing off playing hide and seek with me.

Cultivate Joy Through Positivity

What is positive energy?

We are all surrounded by energies. The universe is made up of energies and we are getting energies from the revolving earth around its axis, the fire, the water, the trees and the soil. These energies evoke a reaction within us. For example what kind of music do we hear, what chair are we sitting on? When we put these good energies into our personal lives these become the positive energies. Also when we surround ourselves with energy in a good way like people with good deeds, good ideas, good thoughts and things we really feel good and these give us positive energy.  

Nature is full of positive energy  and we experience peace when we are close to these pure energies. Life is like an electric wire. Our life gets plugged in with happy thoughts and feelings with positive energies, whereas negative thoughts are like the damaged electric wire that is unplugged from the happy thoughts and happiness.

Why is positive energy important?

We are like the magnets. When we attract positive energy in the form of good thoughts, feelings, vibrations we attract positivity. It leads us to be happy. When we have negative feelings we make ourselves sick and helpless. We spoil our atmosphere around us. Negativity drains us out. Makes us weak emotionally with little or no confidence. Our emotion of being sad can be changed to happy emotions. For example by looking at a beautiful sky or a flower we change our mood into positive happy mood.

Energies impact you and the people around you.

What is the difference between Positivity and Happiness?

Positivity is a state of mind. It is an attitude that builds with time and helps in overcoming the challenges. Happiness is a state of emotion. We can be happy by buying a new car, house, new dress and it is momentary. One can be happy at one moment and unhappy at another moment. Whereas positivity is an attitude. A positive person also goes through negative thoughts but it it is the overall positivity that counts and makes one overcome the challenges in daily lives. 

Stay positive, stay happy it is a chain reaction  that controls your attitude towards yourself and others !

Reviving Memories Through Expression

Reviving Memories Through Expression

As I get older, my memories of childhood, growing up learning amazing things get refreshed !! How many of you remember collecting feathers as a child :-). As a child I would get hold of feathers in parks, gardens, yards that the beautiful birds left while migrating or left them while visiting on their routine food pickup and singing the songs of joy. Many of you may have collected them or your teacher gave you the summer homework to make a scrap book- I was given! The flora, fauna,birds have changed where I live but I don’t lose a moment to admire nature. This sketch of wet feathers was done, those I saw on my visit to a lake. The white feathers appeared to be of the gulls that had left their signatures !!

Expressing With Creativity

Here is a little note highlighting importance of expression by being creative. Expressing through art and creativity is always part of my life and a journey : like even when I am outdoors managing growth of art and not in the studio physically :). It directs to channelize energy into being positive, getting inspired and regenerating a continuous flow of expression.  Perspective of rightful thoughts and instill of emotions is an exploration through creativity. My freedom of expression cradles my original impulse by creating through inspirations and positive thoughts. I don’t allow any barriers to form a wall for my thoughts to get real through colours/ sketch. The beauty in expression forms a bigger picture when you become consistent  in showing this pattern and challenizing your energies that are transparent. The positive thoughts over weigh the negative ones if any and makes me happy to take any challenges with a stride.

Magic of Little Joys !!!

We all have been gifted by the beautiful things around us. There is a magic in every little thing that will spring up your happiness. Feel them with your smile, breath, vision and warmheartedness. Don’t let them go unnoticed and you will see the essence of happiness that will shimmer. The beautiful world is open to you to admire like a beautiful tapestry staged with amazing motifs of nature and wealth of positivism. This photograph was taken at one of my vacations in Italy at Riccione Beach and I sang the song of joy !!!
