Remember you have a journey of life and you are here for a purpose. There are scaffolding’s that lead you to take the paths in the journey of life.  

Life comes to you 

You go through it

It happens for you

You need to take the right turns

Be aware of your being here in this universe by being self aware. By being self aware of your existence, you make the turns to be happy and be in peace. 

When you are conscious you face the realities of life without feeling you are the victim. Remember life is always with  waves of ocean that can calm down or move with a  force of gush.

Trap the right energies that are around you. You will feel light heart and joy.

                              You embrace the right energies by being conscious of your actions.

There is a pleasant swell, that is enduring which will grip your soul and you feel the sweetness.

Every little small moment can bring your senses into power of being bright with the light of right energy.

There are always little gifts wrapped in your situations and you unwrap them by being conscious.

There is essence of knowing something deeply that will help you sail through the thoughts of fear, anger and sufferings.

As you evolve in the right conscious you see the beautiful life that brings sunshine in the fresh mornings and the twinkling stars in the dark nights.

Are You Empowered ?

In broader sense empowerment is  enhancing the skills at an individual or at a group level, where the skills can be used to get the desired outcome(s). Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and you get empowered by conquering your weaknesses and you are aware of setting your goals and working towards them by making the right choices. I believe every individual has the potential to be self aware by reflecting on their actions critically.

(Clip from Sun Newspaper few years ago: myself beside my paintings when I was unaware of true meaning of empowerment, though I was aware of developing my new skills).

Same applies to the group of employees in a company or organization. When the employees learn the details, mission and vision of the company and can take actions for a desired outcome.

  • The word empowerment is powerful. Empowered people have the freedom of making choices and taking actions. It has been on my mind for many months and finally I am writing few of my thoughts here. 
  • Empowerment also leads to insight and confidence, with which you can analyze a situation critically and communicate effectively with others.

Here I will like to mention empowerment does not mean subduing someone.

(I see sparkle in the learning eyes when they learn little by little and tell me how they can handle their  lives in a better way). 

A person can also feel empowered when he learns a new language in a completely different country and that helps him or her to make his life good for the betterment of his or her future.  

                             To become self empowered you have to take your own responsibility

  • Build confidence by taking your own decisions and making choices for the betterment.
  • Don’t hide your creativity. Let it create the ripples of your strength.    
  • Be positive in thinking towards others and yourself.
  • Know your weaknesses and strengths. When you are aware of your weaknesses you can work on them.
  • Analyze what is your contribution to the life that you are leading.
  • Don’t live on disappointments, instead make amendments where you feel the gaps that prevent you to achieve your goals.
  • Take decisions that  make you feel fulfilled.    

Empowerment does not come  over a day, but every step leads to a journey of empowerment.

Take the right actions to build empowerment in your life !!

Power of Having Enthusiasm in Life

Last night I woke in the mid of my sleep, may be my room didn’t have the appropriate temperature. Though I woke up for about 10 min, I thought about enthusiasm… How important it is in ones life !! Some people don’t believe in being enthusiast and they are unaware of all the great things they miss. The biggest being the smiles and happiness from little things,which they miss for not having enthusiasm in life.

 (In the picture you see me perched on a construction truck loaded with dirt, yes ! I just wanted a picture for memory and didn’t care about the dirt and my heels and cloths getting dirty 🙂

The most powerful reasons I can think are :

  • You make your life lively and fun. Even during hard times if we make an effort to have fun it will makes it easier to cross the barriers that we are facing. There is an inner shine that brings peace and our heart is lighter to think about the steps we can take. Unfortunately some mistake it for ignoring the goals that we have to focus on.
  • You become a learner. You are always want to try doing things that will make you happy and in doing, you are in the process of learning new things. You show passion towards life.
  • You get your work done. By being enthusiastic you get the things done more easily. You take it in a positive way that you have the responsibility of finishing your tasks. many times in households or at work people lack the enthusiasm and they tend to be pushing their work away from them.
  • You change your attitude of being positive. When we change our attitudes to be positive we become loving towards others. We become more mindful in our attitude in our daily actions.
  • You trigger your energy level. By being enthusiastic you show curiosity in trying things that come your way. You want to take the opportunities that help you to grow and be happy. You will find yourself leading an active life style or someone who is eating well and staying healthy.

 

Make life beautiful by having enthusisasm !!!

Developing Resilience For Work

There is no work that is without challenges and stress. But the way you can handle your work load makes a big difference in your performance and your outlook towards your work. Resilience is when you spring back in your work when a difficult situation arises and you take it as a challenge for your own growth. You learn and makes changes in your performance and become tolerant for future. Your efficiency is affected by the challenges you can take. You don’t show the signs of giving up and feeling low. 

A popular question asked by an interviewer is ……..

                                              How can you handle stress at work ?

Employers want to make sure their employers can handle the stress situations if it arises. I remember answering an interviewer at one time …I handle stress by going to the gym, working out or through painting. It overall effects my attitude on day to day basis and even at work. One should be capable of figuring out what works best for them and not grumble for the situation they are in. 

By saying all this, resilience looks different during economic  downturns when people are layed off not because of their performance but because of the economic situation the company is facing. Again the employee has to show resilience by not keeping low and having self doubts but take actions that will help them mentally and survive. A self employed person like an artist, may not have much income but shows resilience and trade off by the freedom they have with regards to time schedules and still be happy.

                         Ways to show resilience…..yes you can !!!

  1. Cultivate the practice of being flexible. Your work may involve changes or your boss may ask for modifications in the work you are doing. Be flexible to accept them and follow the guidelines as desired, things will become easy for you once attempt them. If you have a BIG NO in your mind you cannot succeed in overcoming the challenges.
  2. Be committed to your work. When you are committed you make sure your are honest in finishing the desired work as accepted. Resilient people have the urge to being on top of their responsibilities.
  3. Be ready to take challenges that come your way. Recently I had changes at workplace with regards to expectations of paper work. The lead told that people who had accepted the challenge had crossed the high tides but people who were not ready to take challenges were still struggling at work.
  4. Be patient in tackling a situation that may arise unexpectedly. Don’t let the fire create burned irreparable atmosphere for you. Train your mind to be patient and not feel frustrated in grave situations. Be mindful of what you are saying or doing. Your actions reflect at your work place.
  5. Create personal awareness for being mindful. When you create awareness of being mindful you become confident and don’t show self doubts. You may practice meditation or a healthy lifestyle to gain control on your mind without anxiety.
  6. Build a positive outlook that will help you to have a positive response to the situation you may face at work.  When I say positive response it means you are ready to take up the actions that will define your end goal with success.

 

                       Resilience helps us to grow with every opportunity and step we take !!!!

Healing Powers of Nature

We all know nature is beautiful. At some point of our life nature has stimulated an excitement within us either when we went for a walk or at the beach where the waves chanted; the snow clad gigantic mountains or the chirping birds perched on the tall trees; the elegant waterfalls; the vast sky with its changing colors; the shinning bright moon dancing with the twinkling stars or the smiling flowers in the flowerbeds.

Nature has its healing powers that brightens our senses even though it could be momentary when we are in its lap. As we get closer to it more often its reflections cast a greater shadow in our lives. Nature is pure that brings the wellness powers with in us.

            Over the time I have learned the gifts of nature  

When we are in lap of nature, we take a break from our busy lives that rejuvenates our minds.

We feel relaxed and calm that gives a break from our mechanical routines. At that moment we only want to enjoy the beauty that the nature is offering us.

Nature helps to relive the pain that may have been caused by a friend, co worker or a family member. 

We develop a positive attitude when we start to spend more time with nature.

Nature renders us happiness as we can feel good about ourselves. We realize our spirit uplifted with peace devoid of anxiety.

It gives us the opportunity to appreciate the joys around you, even in little forms like the opening flower bud or the crashing waves by the rocks.  


I get close to nature by going for walks with my family, sitting close to the pond surrounded by trees, driving in the country side, running outdoors, going for a hike, vacation by the ocean, driving to the mountains, gardening or keeping flowers in vases.

No wonder why I enjoy nature and want to spend more time in its lap !!!

Mindfulness in gardening

For me the time spent in the garden varies from year to year, but most importantly it the PLEASURE GETTING FROM GARDENING even in a very little time spent.

We invite ourselves to be gentle and kind as we get connected to the pure living forms of nature and the non living soil full of mystery of grains and colors. The freshness of pure air makes us to breath deep and make our senses awake with positive self. The plants take their time to grow and their growth is with time, so we practice patience and tenderness. 

It is a good way of getting close to nature and when we spend time planting and weeding, we totally make our minds free of other situations in our lives. We are totally in that moment and free our minds. There is relaxation that can be felt by looking at different shapes, colors of  plants, flowers, leaves, the entangled roots or the smell of the soil.  

With every blooming bud and flower it brings a smile and joy, our heart is touched with the beauty and we are gripped in the fragrance of the flowers, wood, leaves and soil. The changing colors of leaves or the crackling fallen leaves make us wonder the magnificent fruits of nature. We get into direct connection with them from our inner core and we find harmony.

Every year when spring comes, I am waiting for the blooms. From spring to summer I make occasional trips to the garden center and admire the beautiful plants and look for any new editions to me made in the garden. This does not stop here, fall is again a time to look for deals and hardy perennial plants can still be planted that can survive in the soil and be ready for next year.

A Lesson from nature!

Hi !  🙂

Before I go to to bed I want to share this experience with you from last year in the month of July. We all know nature is beautiful. But do we think what makes it so beautiful ?. 

Last year on my visit to Saskatoon, I had few hours before I would hit the road with my family to drive back to Calgary where I live. Within those few hours I wanted to enjoy the outdoors of Saskatoon near the Downtown where we had our stay and I chose to be close to the South Saskatchewan river to enjoy the river and the trail that runs near the Saskatchewan Crescent East lined by the huge beautiful bungalows and the trees.

As I strolled by the Meewasin Trail I stumbled on this aged pole, telling me it had been there standing alone facing the changing weather under the sky. The pole was surrounded by the green vines, the wild tall growing grass and the smiling purple fragile flowers. I stood there to admire. Though it looked withered it said to me —

“Sun or rain, stay strong. Focus on the positives around you. I am fresh inside, admire the joys and beauty around me.” Majority of plants show rejuvenation, they get back after they have encountered with stress.

                                  Yes I had to sketch the pole I met and me think and learn.

Everyday nature teaches us numerous lessons that we can incorporate in our daily lives. By being mindful and thoughtful we need to have an open heart to get inspired and motivated from nature.

Power of Self Embrace

HELLO AGAIN  🙂

Embracing oneself is not about self indulgence that shuts you off from your surroundings. It is about connecting with your soul, it is about getting to know yourself in true sense and letting your inner light reflect that is vibrant and harmonious with your surroundings. 

Only if you embrace yourself, will you embrace others without setting boundaries and judgments. You have to love yourself not only when you are chilling out or having a fabulous hairdo, but  also on your bad days. You are exhausted and exhibiting negativity when you try to put blame on others for your conditions. Instead learn to embrace your existence, with a gratitude of simple joys.

Connect with your inner light and see the awakening joy of self embrace. Develop that deep power of love that will build a power connection with your surroundings. It builds the foundation of a happy living,  that develops confidence for your existence in this world without creating confusions in your mind.

When you embrace yourself, you don’t make comparisons of your existence.  Trust in yourself and stay strong by embracing yourself. Be clear about the positive attributes you have. The beauty is that you get back to motivating yourself even when you get derailed and feel low. Love life and embrace yourself in the situations that come your way.

Six practices to relieve pain and giving a gift for yourself

Living in the moment of happiness takes you in a garden of flowers that can only be planted by you. You can only do it to enjoy the fragrance of your mental peace. Many times people find it hard. Instead of getting out of pain they prefer to hold it tight by not relieving from it and regretting by thinking why they had to go through it or why it happened to them. Pain could be grave, traumatic or even  petty hit on a daily basis. It could be hit by the surroundings, at work place home, by people around you or at home. 

Reliving pain is a gift to yourself and living in a joyous treasure helps you to weave the boundaries of a positive blanket.

YES YOU CAN DO IT !!

1. Shedding Tears 

It does not hurt to shed your tears and relieve the pain. While you drive a car or truck listen to your best music, shed your tears of pain and you will see your renewal you. Your tears release the stress hormones. Let your tears be pearls of joy that will lighten up your heart with peace.

2. Meditation or Relaxing your mind with positive thoughts

Especially when you don’t have a positive bent of mind there is a possibility of one finding it hard to meditate. But with practice you could build up your style of meditation that will being peace for you. Bring your mind in a relaxing mode to gratitude for the gifts of God that surround you. Bring a focus of silence and let not any distractions kill your silence of relaxing.

3. Forgive 

No matter how hard it is, forgiving some one for their deed can help you to move on. Move on to pastures that bring joy without any regrets. More the thoughts you have of regret, the more will your mind be depleted of the positive energies.

4. Practicing Mindful breathing

Practicing mindful breathing through inhaling and exhaling can help you calm down and relieve pain. This can be down while sitting preferably or lying down. Time and gain you may get distracted by your thoughts, but practice is the key. It may sound too simple but it can play a major role to bring down anxiety caused by pain.

5. Accept your uniqueness while still being ordinary  

Accept your uniqueness and that no one can walk over you. Find your inner self and create a love for yourself. You don’t need anyone’s approval to be happy. Build a healthy life style for your self. Develop passions or spend time in an active lifestyle that will keep you away from being idle with negative thoughts.

6. Promise yourself 

Promise yourself to keep your spirits high and not going back to thoughts of solemn. Keep reminding that it is only you who can build peaceful mind. Don’t allow the negative thoughts to occupy your mind. It will deplete your dis empowerment.

Stay Happy !! It is a Gift to Yourself !!
