When I work my brushes to strokes, I want to create a statement. I painted this flower lady whom I saw by a street in Old Havana and she left a lasting impression. She looked relaxed piping her Cigar. I wanted to capture her traditional dress she wore- yellow silken long dress with a blue head gear. She seemed happy talking to passers by and carried a basket full of flowers and a musical instrument. What a charm she had !!. Painted in watercolours (Winsor and Newton pigments on Arches paper (100 % cotton). Size – 11×6.5 inch. Please leave a comment if you like 🙂 will be appreciated !! ‘A Cuban’
Saw an aged Cuban sitting on the stairs of an old building in Havana. His simple living was reflected in his personality. He was too cool to get photographed. I knew then, I would like to paint him when I am back home. He did not mind getting clicked couple of times. Showing he was easy being photographed by tourists.
Painted in Watercolours (Winsor and Newton pigments) on Arches paper (100 % Cotton), Size- 8×11.
