Flower Lady on The Street

IMG_5045 When I work my brushes to strokes, I want to create a statement. I painted this flower lady whom I saw by a street in Old Havana and she left a lasting impression. She looked relaxed piping her Cigar. I wanted to capture her traditional dress she wore- yellow silken long dress with a blue head gear. She seemed happy talking to passers by and carried a basket full of flowers and a musical instrument. What a charm she had !!. Painted in watercolours (Winsor and Newton pigments on Arches paper (100 % cotton). Size – 11×6.5 inch. Please leave a comment if you like 🙂 will be appreciated !! ‘A Cuban’

IMG_5012

Saw an aged Cuban sitting on the stairs of an old building in Havana. His simple living was reflected in his personality. He was too cool to get photographed. I knew then, I would like to paint him when I am back home. He did not mind getting clicked couple of times. Showing he was easy being photographed by tourists.

Painted in Watercolours (Winsor and Newton pigments) on Arches paper (100 % Cotton), Size- 8×11.
